TREV’S STORY
Trev’s Mobile Bike Shed began as Trev’s Bike Shed behind my childhood home in Memphis, MI, when I was 12. I started fixing abandoned bicycles, teaching myself the mechanics without worrying about making mistakes.
As I got better, I began offering my services to the community. My Grandpa saw my passion and gave me a bike repair stand, which helped me refine my skills. A local newspaper featured me, and soon my story was picked up by others, including the Chicago Tribune. I became known as the "Bike Boy," a title I embraced.

After high school, I worked as a mechanic at a local bike shop while attending Macomb County Community College. I earned certification as an Olympic Level Race Mechanic at the USA Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. When I was laid off in the fall, I worked as a Deckhand on a Pilot Boat in Port Huron, which led me to pursue a career in the Merchant Marine. I attended the Great Lakes Maritime Academy and worked at McLain Cycle to help pay for my education.​
After graduating, I began working as a Sailor on Great Lakes freighters, eventually becoming a First Mate. While I felt proud of my maritime career, I still felt drawn to bicycles. While sailing, I developed a business plan for my mobile bike repair shop. In the fall of 2023, I spoke with my Grandpa for the last time before he passed away. He encouraged me to “Go for it!” With that, I left the ships in spring 2024 and launched Trev’s Mobile Bike Shed, using the same repair stand he gave me nearly 20 years ago.
OUR VISION
We envision a world where limitations do not prevent people from being able to experience the joy and freedom of riding a bike. Across the Blue Water Area, we are building up our business so we may evolve into being the leader in adaptive cycles tailored specifically to children and adults with special needs.
